Church of the Advent
M. Patrick Kane was born in Woonsocket, RI, where he first made music with his mother, who plays piano. He started singing at age 5, then studied various woodwinds throughout his schooling. He attended the University of New Hampshire and received his degree in Music Performance on the Oboe. After moving to Seattle, Patrick played with many of the areas top community and professional groups, including the Northwest Mahler Festival, Orchestra Seattle, and the Cascadian Wind Quintet. As a vocalist, he appeared with the Seattle Choral Company, Saint Mark's Cathedral Choir, and Seattle Pro Musica, with whom he made a number of recordings.
Since returning to Boston in 2005, Patrick has focused primarily on singing, having performed with many outstanding local groups. He has appeared as a soloist in numerous productions of Händel's Messiah throughout New England, as well as in works like Haydn's Creation Jenkin's Mass for Peace, and several of Bach's Cantatas. Patrick is also a frequent guest soloist at Temple Sinai in Sharon, MA, and has appeared as performer and soloist with The Boston Secession. At present, he is a professional chorister and soloist with Capella Alamire and the Choir of the Church of the Advent.
